Who is LC23?

LC23 (established in 2010) is an Italian brand curated from the mind of Leo Colacicco, a fashion designer, creative director, and overall mastermind of all things attire related. LC23 (the name which originates from the first letters of his given and surname, coupled by his lucky number), originates from Gioia del Colle, a town in Bari, Puglia. After taking his studies to Milan, Leo returned home to make his mark in fashion.

Collaborations

Leo Colacicco has had the pleasure of working with many of his inspirations and has stitched his name into the history of some of the most iconic brands in Italy, such as Diadora and Kappa, as well as with English brand Umbro, and the Canadian Briko.

Through his many collaborations with Kappa, a notable work was his involvement in the reboot of Robe di Kappa, a brand focused on casual/street wear and active wear. LC23 became a Consultant for Robe di Kappa, and helped revitalize the brand for the future generation.

Hometown Hero

On march 25 2022, Leo got to live the dream of many football fans when he got to work with his hometown club SSC Bari. His collaboration with Bari (Powered by Kappa), saw fashion, sport, history, and culture come together as he made a home and goalkeeper jersey, two pre-match jerseys, a sweatshirt, polo shirt, T-shirt and track pants for the 2021/2022 season, and a home and away kit for the 2022/2023 season. Each kit is marked with history; from the blue of the sea, the octopus pattern, the “la Bari” wording, or their iconic “Il trenino” celebration from 1994 crawling across the front, each kit has something for every Bari fan.

Conclusion

Leo Colacicco is someone I consider a fashion genius and innovator, someone who is not afraid to push boundaries, and someone who takes pride in what they do. They say that the best way to learn is by knowing the history, and Leo does a great job of not only being cultured on fashion history, but by making sure to give flowers to the iconic brands he is inspired by, all while paving his own way in the industry.
